Former NFL players Franco Harris and Lousaka Polite help kids learn life lessons at academy

The summer academy is the Orange Arrow Performance Invitational

PITTSBURGH —Legendary NFL player Franco Harris is one of many professional athletes helping young people learn life skills at the Orange Arrow Performance Invitational, which is a summer academy, so they can have success outside of sports.

Harris said, “There’s so much in life, so much to enjoy in life.”

Hall of fame NFL player Franco Harris wants young people to have the right skills to enjoy their futures.

“When you do well on the field people are looking for some leadership off the field and you have to step up,” said Harris.

That’s why the former Pittsburgh Steeler teamed up with the organization, Orange Arrow, which was founded by former University of Pittsburgh football standout Shawn Robinson. The group teaches student athletes lessons in financial literacy, leadership, how to build cross cultural relationships, and even cooking and sign language.
