Leadership is the common thread—and this June, it takes center stage in the City of Champions

PITTSBURGH, PA — From the football field to the boardroom, leadership is the common thread—and this June, it takes center stage in the City of Champions. From June 22–24, the Orange Arrow Symposium in Sports (OASIS 2025) returns for its second year, bringing student-athletes, educators, and professionals together to explore what it takes to build winning cultures for life, business, and community.

Held in the heart of Oakland and hosted on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh, OASIS 2025 is a regional convening with national reach. Curated by Shawn Robinson, founder of the Orange Arrow Players Association and a former Pitt athlete himself, the symposium is a dynamic leadership development experience grounded in the power of sports to teach, connect, and inspire.

This year’s theme, Creating a Winning Culture and Mental Well-Being, will be explored through interactive workshops, expert panels, and keynote talks.

Headlining the event is Jim Tressel, five-time national champion football coach and host of It’s All About the Team. He leads a powerhouse lineup of more than 30 speakers from across athletics, business, healthcare, and education, including:

  • Kevin Colbert, Former GM, Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Allen Greene, Director of Athletics, University of Pittsburgh

  • Andy Toole, Head Coach, Robert Morris University Men’s Basketball

  • Dr. MaCalus Hogan, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Leader in Sports Medicine

“OASIS isn’t just about what happens on the field,” said Robinson. “It’s about how the lessons from sport—teamwork, discipline, perseverance—translate into thriving careers and stronger communities.”

The spirit of OASIS 2025 is fueled by a community that understands the profound impact sports can have beyond the scoreboard. This gathering of student-athletes, coaches, educators, and professionals is not possible without those who have stepped in to support the vision.

From the gridiron to the classroom, organizations across the region are rallying behind the mission to develop the next generation of leaders. Leading the way are the Pittsburgh Steelers, The Heinz Endowments, Turner Construction, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh, and Giant Eagle—champions of youth, education, and community impact.

And just like any great team, it’s the details that make the difference. Hospitality partners including Caliente Pizza & Draft House, Pepsi, Big Shot Bob’s House of Wings, and DiAnoia’s Eatery are adding their flavor to the OASIS experience, making sure attendees feel welcomed, supported, and well-fed.

Together, this collective of sponsors is helping ensure OASIS is more than an event—it’s a movement.

Whether attending one day or all three, participants will leave with new tools, powerful connections, and an inspired mindset to take their next step forward.
