• EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES: OASIS UNITES EDUCATION AND SPORTS IN THE PITTSBURGH TRI-STATE AREA TO BUILD WINNING TEAMS

    Pittsburgh, PA – Sports and education professionals will converge at the University of Pittsburgh from July 9th to 11th, 2024 for the inaugural OASIS, a pioneering event dedicated to creating more inclusive and winning teams.

    Exciting update for this year: The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and the Pittsburgh Steelers have joined OASIS as sponsors, adding significant momentum to our mission. Additionally, Mayor Ed Gainey will be in attendance to provide remarks, further underscoring the event’s importance to the community. The keynote conversation will feature legendary broadcaster Bill Hillgrove and two-time Super Bowl winner and former general manager of the Steelers, Kevin Colbert, discussing the theme of creating a winning mindset in the business of sport.

    OASIS: Orange Arrow Symposium in Sports is set to transform the sports community by fostering inclusivity and excellence within organizations. This groundbreaking symposium will bring together leaders and professionals from various industries to explore the vital intersection of education and sports. Through dynamic panel discussions, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities, attendees will discover innovative strategies and best practices for building strong community relations, fostering collaboration, and leveraging the power of sports to drive positive outcomes.

    Over forty distinguished speakers will be featured at OASIS, including sports media executives, coaches, administrators, and esteemed professionals. Students with a focus on sports management will also be in attendance. Notable participants include Dr. Kathy Humphrey, President of Carlow University, Dan Fisher, Pitt’s head volleyball coach, and Dr. MaCalus Hogan, David Silver Professor and Chair, UPMC Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

    With numerous school districts and multiple universities already committed to this idea-sharing and professional development opportunity, OASIS promises to be a landmark event.
